Dear Linda,
Glorious! What a Woman you are!!! I just love your space. What a great system you have! Everything to hand, and you have made such good use of the room you have. Aren't we lucky to be blessed with a "playroom"!! I will post some of my work space pics soon, but mine is not like yours!! You have inspired me!! Love the photos. I have loads of beads and "bits
that just don't store neatly. Did you get your storage cupboards made for you. All my " crafty" friends seem to have "handy husbands" who can make things!!Look forward to "chatting" with you soon.
Cheers
Judy

My room is almost always a complete wreck! There aren't many people I let see it. I have plans to renovate a closet in there - remove the doors so I can see what's in there, put in shelves for more storage. Then I'll take everything out and start over to organize. Now I can't find lots of things and this drives me crazier! I am determined to get a handle on this so I can have a great space that inspires my creative efforts!

Judy, my husband is extremely handy, but everything in my room, except for my pegboard can be purchased at a Home Depot or Lowes. My husband put them together and attached them to the walls for safety. I designed my space and it didn't take too long for us to put it all together. I purchased the wire baskets at www.Spacesavers.com and sorted my fabrics by types and my trims and laces. I have more of both in the closet! I love having everything organized, but I sure can make it a mess! My husband built the pegboard above my sewing machine and that took a bit more "handiness."
If you don't have a handy husband you could hire a handyman for the job. It is worth it! My solution for my beads is the plastic boxes with dividers, originally designed for floss for sewers. I also try to label everything, still working on that issue. I have been trying to create lately instead of organizing! Linda

Hi Linda! Just thought I would show you some photos of my "cubby". I feel like it's my little Retreat. If I can work out how to do the photos they will be here. If I can't will wait for "handy hubby".I live in Australia, but we have stores like the ones you mentioned. Might be worth a try. My New Year's Resolution is to be TIDIER!! chuckle...

Judith, you certainly do have a lot of beads, and very neatly stored! I love your creations, beautiful. Where do you live in Australia? My best friend lives in Ballarat, Victoria. She makes beautiful foundart jewelry and mixed media art. My room gets very messy and that is why I have that room. I can close the door, walk out and not have to worry about it. Enjoy your great sewing room. Linda

Linda,
Your room looks very organized. I like the way you have organized your beads.

Hi Linda,
I live in Adelaide-more in the centre/south of Oz. I know Ballarat. We were just over there a few months back. In fact I love it there. There is SO much to do in Victoria. They have a Marvellous quilting supplies shop there called Gail's Patchwork. It is crammed with the most gorgeous fabric, patterns, braids...A Treasure trove. We drove via The Great Ocean Road which is gorgeous. My Blog has some photos from that trip. Ballarat has Sovereign Hill which is a reproduction Gold Mining town. The whole town is riddled with mines under the main street etc. Many original buildings...

I turned a spare bedroom in to my studio. I find I use it daily being indoors however this Spring I plan on making my Summer kitchen into a workshop. My most useful find/purchase was a 4 large cabinet unit with Formica top I grabbed from a shop closing in town. It has tons of storage and doors so it doesn't always have to be so neat :-)
My husband designed the bead storage wall units, which are my favorite storage space. The large cookie jars hold my trims and small laces wound onto wooden clothespins.I just hang my dyed ribbons on a floss rack purchased at another fabric store closing. My fabrics are stored in those large stackable plastic drawers on wheels to keep dust free...not that I have dust or anything...:-)

Thanks Phyllis. I found it at Hobby Lobby. It inspires me and reminds me why I am in the room :-)
Happy New Year!
