- I am organising an exciting new selected selling event for the North Of England: The Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair, 23rd-26th October 2008 at The Manchester Grammar School.
This is a high quality event that will showcase the best in contemporary craft, bringing together over 100 of the most innovative and influential designer-makers in the UK and beyond - both established and new makers. It will give them a platform to sell their work directly to the public over three days. To ensure high standards all exhibitors will be selected by an independent panel of craft experts to create an inspiring mix of textiles, ceramics, glass, jewellery, metal, wood, basketry, furniture, mixed media and more.
I have set up a not for profit company to over see the event and we are now inviting applications from accomplished designer makers. If you are interested please check out our website for more details and application forms.
And please spread the word. We want to make The Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair a must see event in the calendar of craft in the UK, an event that puts Manchester on the map. We want to promote contemporary craft in the North, and promote designer makers to a new audience of buyers and collectors. So please help us make it a success for everyone! Thank you.
