I like the idea of the medalion being off centre and the log cabin blocks clustered. I look forward to seeing what you come up with in the end. Have fun with it!

Yes, considering I always have 18 to 20 projects on the go, I can understand how one might need to go between pieces to keep motivated and keep the creative juices flowing. Have fun with it!

Wow Caroline! What a busy woman you are! Four daughters- at least you will have someone to visit/look after you in your older years! Teaching is interesting I must admit. Always something new to learn. My two students are acting up no end at the moment. It's Crunch Time. If they get over this, I find they often stay for 3 years (or until they no longer need a tutor).Mum's Nursing Home has "gone mad"!!Good staff leaving. It doesn't stop just because you are retired!!!Yikes.

Hi Caroline,we seem to have more in common..I am a retired Junior Primary teacher, and much of my work early this year was to promote creative writing in two students I tutor. I made little dolls for Jack &Beanstalk etc.I will check out the site you suggest. Patti's book avail Joggles.com & Amazon..Which books did you get your techniques for thread painting from.?
Cheers Judith

Only when absolutley necessary! Seriously though, my studio is where I go to relax and get away from it all so it is much better than sleep!

Sorry, I forgot to answer this one. Susan Strachen Johnson's work is great! You're so lucky to take a class with her. I saw the felting course at the Textile Museum, but thought it was the same one I took a couple of years ago (wet felting). Who was the instructor? If it's the same one (who's name I forget), she puts on an excellent class.
