My favorite book for fabric texture is "The Art of Manipulating Fabric" by Colette Wolff. Unbelievable reference work and very inspiring.

Part of my work is my love for texture. It has to be the kind of piece that someone wants to reach out to touch it. The second part is color. Blending the right colors so that the piece has balance. I love Kaffe Fassett fabrics.

completed crazy quilt. orange borders were patterned using a Shiva Oil paintstick over texture plates. Back with solid black fabric turned over the front edges and hand stitched.
