Hi Cynthy- I will be teaching one or 2 classes in May (Downtown, San Diego, Embassy Suites) "Shrines of Hope" and maybe a "Bookmarks and Necklaces" class. Check my website for updates.

- and one in August at The Urban Craft Center in Santa Monica,(maybe August 1, not quite sure of the date.) It's an art doll class that I think you might enjoy. Hopefully, I'll be teaching a class on how to make the art dolls I had published in "Art Doll Quarterly" the Stampington publication.
I would love to meet you-

Thank you Cynthy for your wonderful advice. I have to look up the article about how another person viewed my art and I was taken aback because no one ever has ever responded to my Art the way that she did. It took me two days to "digest" the critique and it took my husband to explain it to me. I want you show you the article and you will understand. It was an eye opener and then I realized that she was so right about my Art, when I saw it through her eyes. I will be back soon with the article's link. Now, I have a broadened view of how my art can be interpreted. It was a really good thing for me to know. Be back soon, Diana

Hi Cynthy- Thank you so much for the kind words. I do love mixed media for it's change of texture and endless list of available supplies. I can work with twigs and paint, make jewelry, make cards from fabric, whatever I feel like doing that day. I would live to meet you- maybe we can meet up sometime.

Thank you Cynthy for your compliments. What a wonderful way to describe my Art. I also find it amusing that you have a name for my Art "Textile Painting". Some one else wanted to rename the art. I love the name. The word "paint" in the title intimidates me. I know nothing at all about paint. I have said that my fabric looks like "painting" and I create a "palette" when selecting colors. Most people think that it's paint until it's touched or I tell them. It really scares me to discuss painting because I am totally unfamiliar with the subject.

Another Artist suggested Fiber Mosaics or Fiber Textiles. She mentioned that if I use "photo" in the title, it can be seen as a simply "photo transfer". Photo transfer is just a downloaded photocopy. That is not what I wanted people to think of the Art that takes 80 to 800 hours to complete. At my solo show a year ago, I did not know what to call it. Guests were giving me suggestions and we had a lot of fun. Simply put, I know that I learned through "Mosaic Photography" to create this art and I use fabric.

Seriously, I would like to rename it when I renew my business license. Textile painting in sounding better, the more I practice saying it and looking at my "Art". You should see my face when I say it. (LOL) I'll get back to you in another email about the "wild" side of my art. It will make this response too long, but I do want to tell you it (wildness) is a new "awakening" for me. I'll be back soon, with that..,Smiles, Diana
