I was so honored that she asked me to make her jewelry and her bridesmaid jewelry. I made single roses for the bridesmaids on a black satin ribbon with fringe and green leaves. I also made the roses for Sara's hair. She has been saying since she c...

It must be so satisfying to see your beautiful work of art worn by someone you love on a very important rite of passage day (the wedding is ONLY the beginning of the married relationship). And congratulations on her graduation: I am sure you were ...

Thanks Deborah. If you're interested in doing portrait quilts, you must check out Marilyn Belford's online class through Quilt University. If was a great class and I was able to make both my portrait and my husbands during the 6 week course. Marilyn has a website and she's also got a book out that takes you through all the steps. Well worth the time and she's a delightful woman to learn from online!

LOL... I am actually on the email for the Fiber Floozies! BUT I am a working mom and can't make it to the Saturday meetings.. but I still enjoy getting the emails.
Pat sets up our website. She would do one for you if you would like. Susan Pins is doing some really good work.

Hope we can meet face to face. You sound like a person I would like to know.

My book is at the proposal state with C & T Publishing. They saw my Obama quilt in Houston International Festival and they loved it! Whe I mentioned that I was interested in a book, they sent all of the paperwork and I am getting pages together now. I am tossing around with details on more or less "how to" as opposed to more photos in detail discussions on color selections.

Maybe there can be one book and follow up with Book 2. Now, that I have written this idea, I like that better. As you can see, there is much ado about everything. Decisions-ddecisions-decisions. I am happy to know that there is positivity in your relationship and that this may just work out for you. Cheers. Smiles, Diana

I am so sorry to hear about your losses. That is a whole lot of pain to deal with. I have been married for almost 34 years and can not even bear the thought of being without my husband. We are given only what we can actually bear on our shoulders. You do have a heavy load. I wish you find the strength to continue on and know your blessings.

That is so sweet of you to take me around Florida. One day, I will take you up on that offer. My daughter tried to get to Miami twice a year for vacation. I have only been through as a stopping point to get on our cruise ship.

The only source that I know of for business cards is Vista.com. I have used them and they are almost nothing in price. You can get a nicer card and pay a little more.

It's been a while since I dyed fabric. We were trained by a gentleman from Ghana to vat dye and we had a ball! Normally, I use procion dyes and play a lot. Most of my fabrics are in my Mosaics. That is one regret about missing out on Houston Market. I do plan to go next year, unless something else beyond my control happens. I would love to meet up with you in Houston! If my plans go as I expect them, I will have a book published on the Mosaics.

I live in Las Vegas, so if you ever plan a trip, I would love to do a workshop with you. Diana

Just pick me up at the airport! That would be so much fun! Thanks for all of the information on the shop names. I have dyed fabrics and LOVE it! I just have no time to do it anymore! Here in Las Vegas, the sun is so hot, I can get the most beautiful colors and it dries before you finish hanging all of you pieces. Maybe in the summer, I will schedule 2 weeks of just dyeing..hhhmmmm. Thanks for the dyeing hints. I will remember the 50/50.

The shops here are limited in selections. Normally, I make the trip to Houston's International Market, in the Fall. I come home with arm loads, but this year my quilts made it and represented me. (smiling proudly)

I will look up the shops and in the mean time, I will plan to attend the Long Beach International show. The only issue is that it is not wholesale. If a fabric calls my name, I will just have to buy it. At least, I won't need a lot of yardage. My pieces are small to medium sizes. Thanks for all of the great information and for being my friend. Love your Art! Diana

I absolutey love your batik fabrics. Do you dye them yourself? If not, where on earth can I purchase a piece?

Dear, Deeeeeeeeear Deborah...I am sooooo moved by your words; "The story about Aisha...has eaten at me for weeks"...The awful, terrible and...wonderful thing is that you will probably be haunted by her forever. Not actively, not on a daily or even monthly basis, but every now and then, you will think of her with suuuuuuuuch a pang of outrage and helplessness and...love... I say this because I am haunted by a similar event, but, over the years I've come to realize that this 'haunting' is also a way of remembering and loving the one (too m-a-n-y ones!!) who was ripped from this life soooooooo wrongly/impossibly/violently... I never knew this person either, but, it makes no difference, does it - our souls connected somehow and that is that. Hope I've made some sense - it's so hard to put your heart into words, isn't it. I think your Memorial to Aisha is an eeeeeeeeextraordinary work as is and I'm tempted to suggest that it remain "unfinished" as Aisha's life was unfinished, but, on the other hand, perhaps by completing it, you will find some peace...Charlotte

Yeah! You downloaded some photos. Beautiful! I enjoyed your slide show. I love your style of choosing fabrics. Looks like you do have a variety of talents. Keep up the fabulous work.

Thanks for the compliments of my Fabric Mosaics. Thanks for being my friend. Diana
