- Educated in the fine arts and architecture at the University of Maryland , and at an Ecole des Beaux Arts in France, Emily Townsend is currently acting as blogger, part time painter, creative journaling instructor, mail arts maven, and graphics subcontractor in her Hightstown studio. Early work in historic preservation, arts education, and shamanic journeying inspired her incessant habit of being interested in just about everything.
She practices certain obsolescent arts, including hand binding books, and carving totems in erasers;
in other words, her current work deals with the presence of the past.
Although she hopes to change the world for the better, she will settle for just changing herself.
