At 11:32am on October 11, 2007, Ilene London said…: Yes, Thea is very large too and we are trying to gently and slowly decrease her dry food. You know, I've always heard that you can put a bowl of dry food out for cats and they will take what they want when they are hungry - I think Thea would eat the whole bowl at once. Her need for food is clearly emotional - and as you say, for comfort. I think when she was out on the street (and 'skin and bones', I've heard) she never knew when she would get food. So now when she gets it she snarfs it up! But she's wonderful and I love her dearly of course!

Davis said…: Oh, on the subject of food, I have noticed that when the cats arrive they are starving, and I think some eat for comfort as my cats are quite large! Bitty is at probably 15-19 pounds. I keep dry food out for them, and don't have a lot of arguements over food.

About Me:: Welcome! This is my cat Thea (Theodora), or an approximation of her in my first fiber collage of several summers ago. Since I discovered Susan Sorrell's work and online classes at joggles.com, I have been totally addicted to doing this type of work. (Thanks Susan!) I all but stopped doing paper-based mixed-media collage and have been doing my version of fiber collage ever since - small hand-sewn art quilts using commercial or hand-painted/stamped fabric, floss, fibers, handspun yarn, metal embellishments, beads, etc. You can see more of my work and more about my creative processes on my blog http://theinneri.blogspot.com/.
