Hi Judith, what are you working the collage with? Wall-hangings or your Dolls, which are fantastic, or something else? I'd like to ask a question... I have the Patti Culea Creative Cloth Doll Making book, and was wondering if the Creative Cloth Expl…

Thank you very much. I was really pleased with this purse as it was only the second piece I had made on my embellishing machine. The other photo was the first piece.

About Me:
I'm interested in all the fibre arts and embellishments and have tried quite a few. I love to draw and paint using most mediums. I've done Shibori work, other silk dyeing, and making silk clothes. I started learning how to quilt so that I could quilt the silk and became hooked on another thing that I love. I mostly do art quilts and like to do beading and mixed fibres. My latest learning curve has been felting and I think I'm hooked again...lol I'm looking forward to learning lots more from this interesting site.

Hi! And thank you for your kind comments :). I know what you mean about time being a problem! For my pieces, I make the felt, from a big assortment of different fibres, with an embellisher machine, and then do the beading and embroidery by hand.

Hi Jay, My great Ocean road pic is the one with the turquoise background and the painted canvas applied to it with the grass embroidered on it. We did the Ghan up to Alice and it was magic. I was so excited I woke my daughter, then 12 years old, in the middle of the night, to point out the milky way. She was NOT impressed at being woken up! We actually came to Australia to look up all the relatives as my father-in-law came from Junee and all the Danswans over there are related. We went from Sydney to Wagga and Junee, then to Melbourne,Beach port to see the memorial to Geoffs uncle, Adelaid, Alice and Ayres, Darwin, Kakado, Cairnes and the Barrier Reef back to Sydney and over to Aukland. We plan to come again now in 2012!I found the land really inspiring for my textiles and did a whole body of work based on the landscapes. I have just invested in an embellising machine and can recommend Dale Rollesons book Surface Tension. I wet felt mainly. Anyway lovely to link up with you . Kath

Hi Jay Jay, I love felt making and have been doing it for some years and also teaching it. My first hangings were a set inspired by a trip to Australia. I use it as a backgroud for embroidery. If you look at my pictures you will see one of the Great Ocean Road which we drove down from Melborne to Adelaid from whence we took the Ghan rainway to Alice.
