workshops and travel!

Have been trying to upload an image to go with this blog but therre is an error on the page! I've had a really busy few weeks with talks and workshops. Perhaps the most exciting for me was teaching at the Embroiderers Guild HQ at Hampton Court. We stayed at Horley (22 miles away) where I had been speaking the night before. The first morning it took two and a half hours to get to Hampton Court. The traffic was aweful. The next day it only took 45 minutes!!!!
I did the same bowls workshop at Winch… Continue

holiday!!!

Horrah we are off to Sedona, Arizona tomorrow for two weeks. Decided not to go to the Knitting and Stitching show in the end as I just didn't have the time especially as my daughter wanted me to make her a dress for her trip to Las Vegas in two weeks time. Have just finished sewing up the hem . All packed and ready for the off.

Hi Kath,
Thanks for replying to my post, yes I do visit UK as two of my sons live there still, my third son is living in New York at the moment with my grandchildren.
Will hopefully be visiting them in NY in October then spending a month in UK in November. My middle son lives in Gloucester, so not too far from Swindon.

Oh, my goodness! So blown away that you noticed my little endeavors! I ordered your book about thread painted bowls and vessels from Amazon UK. Your work is stunning. Thank you so much for you kind comments about my little attempts.

Hi Kath!
Your work is beautiful! I'll be very interested to hear how it goes with the precious metal clay - I agree about silversmithing being incredibly hard work!!

Hi Kath, I have only just started felting which I do on an embellishing machine. So far I have only made 2 things... the first was some of my dyed silk felted onto a piece of commercial wool felt and then beaded. The second piece was a felted clutch purse. I used strips of synthetic fabric with Autumn toned merino roving and then did some gold embroidery down the centre of the strips. I used the same fabric for the lining as the strips.
I'll see if I can upload some photos. I've had a look at your work here and on your web site and it is just beautiful and very creatively artistic. I couldn't find the work with the Great Ocean Road. We are planning to fly to Adelaide this year and go on the Ghan to Darwin where our son works. Do you do your embroidery free hand with the feed teeth down?
