Thank you, Allyson. I'm sorry it took me so long to acknowledge your kind words ... been on vacation. It WAS a lot of work, but it's a place that I dearly love to go, and I had to honor it somehow.

- I've always loved birds, nests, and eggs. I have two cockatiels of my own...one that I found in my sister's backyard. He just hopped up on my finger when I approached him. Years later, I found a parakeet in my own front yard. I've come to the conclusion that I am the "Crazy Bird Lady" but I've met others! One artist friend of mine has birds all over her studio, including button quail that run -around her feet! You ought to check out her site...she makes amazing one-of-a-kind pendants from PMC. I'll look up her site and send it to you.

P.S. Your home sounds lovely...I live between Des Moines and the surrounding farmland. We don't get quite a huge variety of wildlife, but we do see bald eagles every so often...cool!

Teresa Gunderson said… - It's a square of silk I hand-dyed. I painted the tree on with Lumiere paints, and the leaves are made from polymer clay. It says "Quinn's Tree" - it is part of a memorial quilt for a friend of mine who lost her son very young.
