Would an old, worn sweater, gotten at either a yard sale, Salvation Army, or given to me by someone who knows my proclivities, qualify as junk?

My oldest Daughter is 22 and is moving out this weekend, she saved up and bought a little condo. I am a little sad but I am already moved into her bedroom, finally I get a studio! I was spread all over the dining room and it spilled all over the main floor of my house. I was embarassed to have anyone come in! I have been selling items through a wool shop on consignment that a friend owns. How did you get going Morna? Did you do Art shows? I am not having luck on Etsy.

I have seen your penny rugs, all that I could find online, LOL, I have always had a "funky" sensibility in everything I sew and paint, I work in Acrylics a little bit as well. My mother is a Master Spinner and a weaver so I have grown up with an Artist in the house. She is much more reserved and refined that I am. I have 3 daughters who are not interested in the least in my Funky creations other than to humour their old mother! So you see, that is why I was so excited when I found you months ago....so glad to have found this site also! I feel happy and motivated to have made a connection! I have also posted my things on JunkMarketStyle on occasion. Love that site too. I am an obsessive second hand shopper and will pick up all sorts of things that make my Husband crazy! (Something that gives me a lot of satisfaction by the way.)

Nice to meet you too. I use to sell at Jan`s and I did a show in her town. I haven`t put myself out there in a few years so I haven`t had anything for her to buy from me. I`m just finding my art again. Had to take some time to find myself. Now I`m looking around to see what`s out there. Use to be shows, then Ebay, now what `s the way to sell? Websites? I was told I should join this fiber arts site , so I did to see what`s going on here. You have lots of great photos of your work, love how you`ve found your own look. You`d love my house, I have a room for my wool. Actually it has an early cast iron store clothing rack full of old wool blankets I`ve collected for years. I also collect old textiles too. Mohair is one of my favorite, the fur I mean. I`ve been buying , selling and collecting antiques for the last few years while I took time to find my art. I think the big needlepunch pictures are going to be it, but I`m not sure where to sell them now, so I just keep making them because I enjoy it. Maybe I should ask Jan ........Thanks for responding,Melanee
