Hi Sally! Mendota is about 90 miles north of Peoria on Routes 251 and 34. I was just down in Peoria at ICC for a workshop a few weeks ago :)

Love your three pieces here - especially how you use tulle and yarn to add texture and dimension.

I've added three new fiber art pieces done in the last two weeks. The water scene with pink sky measures approx. 9" square. I used pulled and cut yarn, nylon cording, rope, and thread and made the design on muslin. I covered it with tulle and quilted it with coordination threads by machine and by hand.
The path scene is made the same way and I only used yarn to make the design and added hand embroidery. It measures 2 1/2" x 3 1/2".
The black cloud scene is done the same way. I used yarn, fabric and paper and it measures approximately 7" square.

Hi, Patsy. It is hand embroidered using regular sewing thread. I use pulled and clipped yarn covered with tulle for the background. Thanks for your interest.
