Chatting about Social Media...

Sat in on the "Live chat" on FAMM (this social network) - I didn't do much chatting. Spent most of my time lurking in the background "listening." I enjoy staying abreast with a all this tech stuff. Have no idea where it may lead me. I belong to a few social network and I blog regularly at SkybellArts. I started using Twitter with family and friends and love it as a way of staying current with the news media or particular websites (astronomy2009, sci… Continue

NaBloMoPo

November is already racing at a frenetic pace but oddly, I still have the illusion of control. I'm participating in NaBloPoMo (again) this year. It's been set up using Ning and is so much easier to connect with others. Yesterday when I signed up there were 3675 members and when I went to bed the membership had grown to 4598... this morning 4871. It's a crazy world!

so many new faces

I think I noticed that there are 266 members in the Fiber Arts/Mixed Media Ning Ring. (Three more have probably joined since I started typing!)

I tried to spent some time learning more about some of the artist on the ring and visiting their blogs/websites. After about an hour I was overwhelm. So much to see - too little time.

This isn't what I was going to do!

I had a plan when I sat down at the computer. I was going to upload some more pictures to Flickr and see is if I could figure out how to better organize things using sets and collections. In one of my Flickr groups I noticed a connection to Ning and before I knew it I was exploring it, setting up an account and typing here. (I'm seriously wondering if I have adult ADD.) I've been using Blogger to keep track of the small artwork I've been creating but I don't usually blog the the noise and static… Continue

Hi Kim
Did you notice that the Sea Hag was created by a woman in Florida? Check it out again, and go to her picture trail. She has a beautiful gallery and looks like a fun person to be around.
Thanks for befriending me!

Hello Kim, thanks for being friends! I guess the internet is really amazing and I'm thrilled to meet fellow artists here, to look at their work and to exchange thoughts about all kind of things. I looked at your work on your blog, great work!
Thanks again for being friends,
Andrea

Hi Kim - I think you're right about doing many things arther than being single-minded about one (which is a very male attitude, after all the poor things aren't good at multi-tasking so they would say that wouldn't they). I find that if I do a number of different things they all spin off on one another - and of course life is that much richer for the variety. Many artists (think Leonardo, Michelangelo) wouldn't have been as good if they'd simply stuck to one thing
