MOVE IN DAY!!!!!

Not sure when i'll be back online, while we unpack and wait for hook-ups.

This is an automated "publish on" entry. I am not around.

countdown.....................!!!!!!!!!!

(modified photo courtesy of LOLCATS)

23 hours and 32 minutes until we are in our new home and away from MIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Count with me!

1001    1002    10003   1004..............

while waiting for my son...

Second in the hand poetry series

ahhhhhhhhh, some "real" life

My darling, talented, handsome, brilliant son is coming down from Edmonton today and we will be spending the next few days together, catching up with an old friend who will be passing through Calgary and whom we haven't seen for almost 10 years. J and i are also going out to Elbow Falls today to "visit" Selena's grave and he will stay through Wednesday to help us with the move.

I haven't seen my son since before Christmas and we are long overdue for a talk and a lengthy visit. There are things that need to be said now that he is an adult, and he has things he needs to ask and share as well.

Reality, WOW, what a concept! (George Carlin, i think)

88 to go--and a CLUE

----and 19 days until Blogaversary 5! I suspect the day comes before the total of 2000 posts, as even i cannot post that much ;}

CLUE: what colours is a Hoodoo Sky?

Backing to wrapping and labelling packages.......

Cyber Fyber news

My second round Exquisite Corpse Textiles Project piece made it home in time to be mounted and sent off again to the Cyber Fyber show in Columbia, South Carolina. The show opens tomorrow and i'm hoping a friend who will be attending, will be allowed to take photos "in situ".

It is such an honour to have been invited by Susan Lenz to submit two pieces of my work. "Shifting Gea… Continue

Exquisite Corpse Unshrouding Soon--and second round proposed!

We are SO close to the "unshrouding" of the first round!!! The last deadline is/was Aug 25, but we have some pieces that have only one square left to finish before they go back to the "owner". The group is amazing (18 players)and i can't wait to see the finished works!

Counting myself, i have 5 people interested in playing in a second round for the Exquisite Corpse project. If you are interested, please let me know. If you *do* commit, you MUST follow the rules, and be aware of postal costs, de… Continue

correcting an oooooops

The ATCs i did for the Cybre Fybre trade suddenly looked wrong to me---and like lightening hitting, i realized that for more than a year, i have been making my ATCs THE WRONG SIZE!!!! They're too small!!!! If you would like to trade any anyways, please see my main blog with this entry
The ones that are smaller are the photo of three in one shot :}

Round Robin Proposal

I'd like to try an excercise called the Exquisite Corpse, but in
textiles and textile techniques. And no the subject is not as gruesome
or squishy as it sounds :}

I have more details on my blog

Hello Arlee, the peice "Backless Dress" was created from handmade Gampi paper on Tarleton fabric. The gampi (bark from a shrub often used in Japanese printmaking paper) was soaked, cooked and then ground in a Hollander with annato seed for color. The pulp was then pulled on screens an placed on the Tarleton (a starched cheese cloth like fabric used in printmaking). The wet paper cloth was then draped on a mannequin and left to dry. This was done twice and then stitch together.
