You guess right about my heritage, I am from Canada, and like you I have Ottawa (where I was born) in my past. My parents retired in Vancouver after moving us around the country with the Air Force. I have cousins in Toronto and would frequently go there in my youth. I went to UBC for two years before I married an American and moved south. I come to Vancouver every summer to see my family. I love that city - its so beautiful. You are fortunate to live there. Thanks again for all your help. Hugs, Joni

I'm inspired by your cat grocery bag....I've been wanting to make some grocery bags myself. I have a bunch of empty rice sacks that my hubby got me from an Asian restaurant for a quilt project I was doing for the Des Moines Asian Festival. They are so nice and sturdy (plastic) that I was thinking they would make a great tote.
I love the idea of "upcycling": reusing things in a way that makes them more beautiful than before.
