Thanks for checking out my work. As for your question about my work, the piece you inquired about being a rug is wall art. It is mounted on an acrylic panel. It's constructed in a technique that I call "crinkle quilting". I wrinkle the fabric and then confine them in place with hand quilting. The thread fringe around the outside edge is the end and beginning of each length of floss I stitched across the surface. I'm just working out the interface to this place. I have contributed a couple of articles to Cloth, Paper, and Scissors is that what you mean.
Yes I am Canadian, living in UK for last 18 years (how did that happen?)
I'm not using an embellisher. Don't have one. I think I prefer wet felting anyway. It's quite amazing the number of woven fabrics that will embed! I have only tried one fabric so far that refused to cooperate.
