About Me:
I'm a mixed media artist with a very eclectic style and a strong bias towards textiles.
I live in a beautiful woodland setting with my husband and my dog. My children are all grown up and left home, but with 11 grandchildren I seem to find it more difficult than ever to devote time to my creative side.

A big thank you

I just wanted to say how helpful and interesting all the contributions to the Forum discussion on 'The design process' were. I started off this discussion as I was a bit stuck on my latest project and a bit demoralised, but all the comments and helpful suggestions have given me a kick start and I've had a thoroughly good day, as you'll see if you visit my blog http://sharonoyoung.blogspot.com/.

Thank you all very much indeed.

Sharon

Hi everyone
I've been blogging for a few weeks now and kept seeing this site on lots of the blogs, so I finally decided to join in on the fun.

I'm looking forward to finding my way around and posting up some pics of my latest creations.

Hi Raine
I don't understand when you say you are not an embroiderer, these pieces show you clearly must be :-), your machine stitching is lovely on these pieces. I also think that less is more, very often in embroidery.
Keep on stitching

Hi Sandra,
Thank you. You know i am not an embroider, but lately i have been seeing these utility type stitches used on quilts and wanted to try them. Although these are not as elborate as some i have seen. Your comments are always welcome.

Sewfully,
Raine'

I think procion can be more vibrant - but I quite like the colours I manage to get with Marabu - I always buy them when I find some on sale.
Do I gather from various posts you are doing a distance learning with opus?
;)
