About Me:
What would the world be without color and design? I can't imagine!
I collect, fabric, yarn, gadgets, paints and books. I began my creative life as a weaver & spinner and then found quilting almost 30 years ago. I have come full circle now and am, once again, spinning and enjoying adventures with wools. I can be obsessive about quilting, knitting, needle felting, spinning, dyeing, painting & reading. I would love to have a room large enough for a long arm quilting machine - but first I would have to win a machine ! I love to experiment with new techniques , learn new things, push creative envelopes, and smell the roses along the way.

Yes, the Quilters for Obama is showcasing an event where 3 of my quilts and one group quilt from Fiber Artists for Obama, will be hung. This is a link to the article. It shows only one of my quilts and the group quilt.

I will make your cake very soon because I can't get it off of my mind. Sounds like your midnight shift was the place to be during the holidays. Smiles, Diana

I subscribe to your blog and did not realize that you were here until I saw the logo. Oh no, I want the kick in the cake! No liqour will be removed! I agree with it tasting better as it sits. I have a great recipe that I have used for 30years. It is the Barcardi Rum cake and I usually make it during Thanksgiving and Christmas. Looking at your made my mouth water.

No, I have not done Eartha, but you can bet that she will be on my list now. She has interesting festures in her face that I would really have fun with mixing fabrics! I will send you a copy when it is done. Thanks, Diana

Hi Marie. I absolutely love your fiberarts. The quilting is to die for and the colors are so vibrant.

Oh, I also copied your rum cake recipe from your blog and will give you feedback when I make it. Thanks

Hi Marie, I checked out your website and I loved your photos. Then I remembered where I saw your little bags before - in Fibre and Stitch! I am anxious to try and make one. Congratulations on your article in F/S. I am writing an article for an issue in 2009 and I am very excited to be asked to do it. I have one question about making the felt. What is the benefit of wet felting after doing the needle felting? I am new at felting, I have only knitted some bags and washed them. I am going to line the inside with fabric and add some kind of dodad on the front. Marie, Thanks for being my new friend.

Thank you so much Janine and Sara !
I am just thoroughly besotted with felting now. I just took and order for a clone of my felted crow, Epley!
I was happy to get the hummingbird done just as they returned to the Pacific Northwest for their Spring rounds ! You both have some wonderful, exciting work out there - and we are lucky to have you here on Fiber Arts/Mixed Media ! Best!

love your felted creations. I'm just in the early stages. I looked at your blog too. Good to see that that book "Uniquely Felt" is worth buying. I'll look into that one.

Hi Helen:
I am still surprised that I love machine free motion more than anything now. I used to avoid it like the plague. One day something just "clicked" - and then it was a matter of practice. I still have a long way to go - but I enjoy the practice a lot now !
