I found some little, blank books at our local teacher's store. They were 6" x 6", 16 pages and just 85 cents each. Bound with two staples in the middle, they were not fancy, but perfect for sharing art journaling with newbies. I gave a class at my church on simple bookbinding,…

Well, I will try again, that is to write the blog I wrote last night, before aol cut me off and I lost the lot.Grrr.
Sorry, well, here goes.
I have added photos of some work I have been doing the last week or so. These are of some Celtic brooches. Some have small landscapes within the frame of the brooch, some are more decorative but still using Celtic themes. I have been studying Celtic motifs for some time now. They hold so much mystery for me and never fail to fascinate. I suppose I have alw…

The prospect of four days off in a row, make me a very happy person. I finished the quilting on my acrylic on canvas piece, yesterday and am VERY happy with the results. I used a shiny piece of red satin type stuff on the back (I don't know what it was, but someone gave it to me, so it was free), and I swear that the back looks just as good as the front due to the heavy quilted texture. When I decide how I want to finish the edges (and actually do it), I'll take a picture and post the piece. I'm…

It started raining, yesterday and will probably rain through today. The days are warmer now, and the snow is melting. The rain is going to wash away more of the snow, and will probably cause some flooding. The traffic will slow to a crawl, as it's known to do in Toronto, but it's nice to finally hear the birds and see a few patches of grass. My camera is ready! I can hardly wait for spring.

The snow has stopped, the sun is shining, my road has been ploughed and all is well. I'm not sure how much snow actually fell, but it was an obscene amount. The worst part, is that my brother in Vancouver, B.C. just sent me pics of the daffodils in his front yard. Don't you just love brothers!!!!
I layered up my acrylic painted piece last night. My muse is whispering something about a threadwork tree, so I'll probably work on that later today. Enjoy your Sunday!

I'm sitting here looking out the window at the snow that hasn't stopped all day. I can't believe that we're "springing forward" to daylight savings time tonight. The real, first day of spring seems to be a long way off. On the creative front, my meeting for tomorrow has been cancelled, so I'm planning a creative day. I'm experimenting with some painted canvas, so would like to stitch a little tomorrow. If my experiment works, you may see it on this site in a couple of weeks. Wish me luck!
