Hi Sammy, Thanks for your concern about how we are doing out here near the coast. We did better than many! Didn't get the wind inland like the coast did but we sure got the rain! I'm closer to Vernonia than the coast and we experienced the flood. Spent the past two days helping neighbors who didn't fare as well as we did. Just got our internet back Wednesday night. Very tired but feel good that we could help. Rescued cows, rescued hay, pulled items out of the flood waters, even washed dishes. It is wonderful the way people pull together at times like these. Hope you fared well through the storm too.

Thanks for your comments on my Kimono pins, Sammy. I'll bet yours were really awesome, you do such great bead work. Have you got your Etsy site up and running yet? I hope you will let us know. I am in Oregon too and preparing for the big storm we are expecting. I am near the coast and already we have tremendous rain coming down, but not much wind so far. I'm a little nervous. Thanks for looking at my photos.

thanks for your lovely comment and your inviting being your friend here. I am watching your blog since few days and I am amazing about your work. Wow! Be happy that you are here. Enjoy it Barbara
Sammy, Do you remember the little pop up cups moms use to carry? They were flat, and you pushsed on them and they became a cup kind of funnel shape I guess.
Well this is done with strips of magazines, 2 inches wide, halved, then you end up making a circle. You then keep the base and push the rest to make the bowl. Not so hard, learned it from Creative Techniques Magazine. Very relaxing and helps me keep busy while watching a program or two on tv. The first couple I did and just left them, but this poor bowl didn't look finished when I did it, so out came the paint and then added the fringe. Actually very simple, although does require quite a bit of tape...I bet the checkers wonder why I buy 7 or 8 rolls everytime I go shopping! LOL
