measuring 12.75x2.40mtr. This tapestry may be the biggest single piece ever woven by hand. It is woven on a horizontal frame loom with all colors hand dyed. It took 7 months to complete.
on the backgroud you can see the Tasara weaving studio and the Tasara gallery
The tapestry was designed by Vaudevan and Baslakrishnan and woven by the weavers of their studio; Tasara Creative weaving centre, India.
Commissioned by The Paul Hotel in Bangalore, the tapestry will be installed on their atrium wall in January 2009.
Tasara weaving centre offers courses and residencies in textile designing and related topics.
