I'm back!!!
It's been a while since my last post but I was quite sick and Christmas is not one of my favorite holidays (it makes me quite sad been so far away from my family) depression comes back and I have to deal whit it. So trying to get back to be myself again doing yoga, tae kwon do and getting some inspiration back. Not an easy task; makes me wonder what does artsy people do to get their muse back? I have no idea for now I'm reading some books trying to get back on track. God help me!!!

I am very far away from my family, as well. One thing I do is release any attachment to tradition. Sometimes we can be so attached to Holiday traditions that our disappointment can get in the way of any new magic we might make. I let my Holiday create itself, this year and I ended up having some very nice times with friends. If I feel depression taking hold...and I sometimes do...I do the things that remind me that my well being comes from within. I usually start with meditation, then I putter with my environment, you know, clean up, organize...this helps me feel grounded and accomplished. I also belly dance. Lately, I have begun working in my Healing Art Journal. This has really opened the door for my Muse and I'm starting to feel like myself, again. I also CHOOSE JOY. This is very important and sometimes very difficult, but it really just takes remembering what joy feels like and nurturing that feeling within yourself. It's OK to feel joyful...even if the circumstances are challenging. Affirmations are a big help, too.
Well that's what I do, anyway. Hope some of it may help you and I do hope you feel better and find your muse, soon!

“Naked to mine enemies”- Shakespeare
The basis of this show invites praise of the NAKED form. The human body, mould, external three dimensional shape that houses our hearts, souls, and limbs. The creatively different arrangement we call our body. NAKED is conceived to allow the artist freedom to create art with this image of the primal element of life, the human form, in mind. NAKED.
All two and three dimensional media are welcome, as well as time-based art. Let your ventures run NAKED.
Submissions
Artists are invited to submit up to three pieces for jurying. There is a jury fee of $20. The jury fee is $10 for youth artists 14 years or younger.
Submission forms, accompanying materials, and payment should be mailed to or dropped off at:

Images of artwork: Digital images on CD or a on a Web site are preferred. The museum no longer accepts slides, transparencies, or color prints without prior written consent. Please do not submit original artwork. The museum cannot accept unsolicited artwork through the mail or in person without prior written communication.
