About Me:
I've been sewing and embroidering forever. I have always liked weaving, spinning, dyeing, lacemaking, crocheting, knitting, etc. I used to make baskets but it's too hard on my hands. I don't weave any more though I might again someday. I am trying to learn more about my new sewing machine. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool geek, hopelessly addicted to computers. And I like to write.

My first machine embroidered piece!

My first machine embroidered piece! I hand painted cotton with Adirondack Daubers and then free motion quilted around the colors to make my picture. Boy was this FUN!

Do you get a free copy for letting your work be published? A friend of mine had some of his work published in Somerset Studio's last issue and he's still waiting for his copy even though that was out on the newsstands over a month ago. I think it's bad enough that these mags are chock full of ads, they cost a small bloody fortune to buy and they still don't pay people to use their work. But that's the dynamic they've set up and everyone goes for it. I've never submitted anything.

That being said, I know that this is a book and a different publisher. It has to be hard to wait to see it for yourself. I was surprised to see that it came from an Amazon warehouse that isn't ten miles from here, so it came quickly. (And actually, I live between the warehouse and the UPS processing depot. Too bad they don't have pick up!) I'lll keep my fingers crossed that your's arrives soon.
